Step 5 - How to read and understand basic reports

Traffic - Page views

ShinyStat Free ShinyStat Pro ShinyStat Business

This report shows the page views to your site during the selected time interval.

In addition to the number of page views, the first table shows the daily average and the period trend.
In case more values are being compared, you will be shown the corresponding average and trend.

The values indicated by (Mon-Fri) and (Sat-Sun) represent the averages of the period which are calculated by considering only the days from Monday to Friday and from Saturday to Sunday, respectively.

Filters

- Interval: these options allow you to retrieve the data of a particular period of time.
For this report it is available a history since the subscription date, except for the Free version where it is available a 12-month history.

- Compare with: feature: thanks to this feature you can compare up to three values selected among the available options.
For the ShinyStat Free version, only page views and visits can be compared.

The "Compare with" feature is available for all the intervals only if you have the ShinyStat Business version; in the other versions it is available only for the 'Latest 31 days' interval.

Chart

On its horizontal axis, the chart shows the days or the months of the represented period and, on the vertical axis, the page views.

For the 'latest 31 days' and 'latest 3 months' intervals with a single selected value, it is possible to choose a different graph chart by clicking on the icon corresponding to the graph type (bar or line chart).
Moreover, for intervals no longer than 6 months you will be shown a dotted line representing the 7-day mobile average.
For the other intervals, you will be shown only the 7-day mobile average.

Selecting a period that includes today and no longer than 122 days, the real time data and the daily forecast for the current day are represented in different colors.

Table

The table shows the data retrieved according to the selected time interval.

For interval longer than the 'latest 3 months' the data are represented on a monthly basis and not per day. Click on the name of a month to view the daily data.
The last column shows the percentage of variation with reference to the previous month.

Selecting a period that includes today and no longer than 122 days, the last two lines of the table show real time data and the daily forecast for the current day.
